Roaster for Wells: The Campaign
Roasters for Wells is a collaborative project between 5 coffee roasters in Vancouver, and imagine1day that aims to raise at least 75,000 CAD through fundraising. With the money being donated to imagine1day’s plan to purchase a water well drilling rig that can drill 45 wells a year.
The Appeal
We’re committed to matching donations of up to 50,000 CAD and will also be fundraising in stores and through sales of an Ethiopian coffee launch.
As coffee roasters, we rely on the people in rural coffee-growing communities and the crops they provide us with. Roasters for Wells is our chance to collaborate and fundraise for a project that can hopefully make a difference in the lives of people who make a difference in our lives! Without easy access to fresh water, people in rural areas must travel long distances, often on foot and several times a day, to carry water back to their homes. This water is essential and used for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
Clean, safe access to water is a necessity that gives freedom back to communities, allowing children to focus on education and skill-building for the future.
