Roaster for Wells: The Campaign<\/h2><\/div>Roasters for Wells is a collaborative project between 5 coffee roasters in Vancouver, and imagine1day that aims to raise at least 75,000 CAD<\/b> through fundraising. With the money being donated to imagine1day\u2019s plan to purchase a water well drilling rig that can drill 45 wells a year.<\/p>\n<\/div>The Appeal<\/h3><\/div>We\u2019re committed to matching donations of up to 50,000 CAD<\/b> and will also be fundraising in stores and through sales of an Ethiopian coffee launch.<\/p>\n
As coffee roasters, we rely on the people in rural coffee-growing communities and the crops they provide us with. Roasters for Wells is our chance to collaborate and fundraise for a project that can hopefully make a difference in the lives of people who make a difference in our lives! Without easy access to fresh water, people in rural areas must travel long distances, often on foot and several times a day, to carry water back to their homes. This water is essential and used for drinking, cooking, and bathing.<\/p>\n
Clean, safe access to water is a necessity that gives freedom back to communities, allowing children to focus on education and skill-building for the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>
