High-Level Delegation Reviews AEP & MAEIP Progress in Dasench District
Imagine1day, in collaboration with UNICEF, successfully hosted a high-level delegation that included representatives from the Norwegian Embassy, NORAD, and government authorities from regional, zonal, and district levels on a field mission to Dasench District in the South Omo Zone of the South Ethiopia Region. The visit was organized to assess the sustainability and long-term impact of the Accelerated Education Program (AEP), while also reviewing early progress under the new Modelling Accountability and Effective Instruction Program (MAEIP).
During the mission, the delegation observed how the AEP initiative had enabled more than 5,000 drought- and flood-affected children to access education and transition into formal schooling at Grades 1–3. Five Temporary Learning Spaces constructed for AEP centers were officially handed over to the Dasench District Education Office and are now functioning as fully operational government schools, including the supported Mermerti and Kelem primary schools. The delegation also reviewed progress under the MAEIP program, which included the distribution of more than 1,100 school bag kits to primary students, the provision of Early Childhood Development kits for pre-primary learners, and the delivery of dignity kits to adolescent girls to promote menstrual hygiene management and support consistent school attendance.
This successful field visit reaffirmed partners’ commitment to sustaining and scaling impactful education interventions in Dasench District.
Imagine1day at the WISE 12 Summit 2025 in Qatar
“Humanity.io: Human Values at the Heart of Education” — WISE 12 Theme (Nov 24–25, 2025, Doha, Qatar).

The program explores how education systems can adapt to rapid technological, societal, and economic change while preserving human-centered values. It highlights the importance of empathy, dignity, equity, and social justice in shaping learning environments, curricula, and educational policy. It also examines how innovations—including AI and digital tools—can strengthen inclusivity, accessibility, and equity without dehumanizing learning or reducing it to a purely technical process. Ultimately, the theme calls for system-level transformation, reimagining education frameworks that remain responsive to a rapidly evolving world while staying firmly grounded in humanity.
Imagine1day was proud to participate in the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) 2025 in Qatar, hosted by the Education Above All Foundation. Our CEO, Dr. Seid Aman, represented the organization at this global gathering, which brought together policymakers, education innovators, researchers, and development partners from around the world. Throughout the summit, Dr. Seid contributed to high-level discussions on transforming education systems, addressing barriers to equitable learning, and identifying policies and innovations that could strengthen learning outcomes for children in underserved and crisis-affected communities.
Participation in WISE 2025 enabled Imagine1day to highlight the progress made in Ethiopia, share lessons from field implementation, strengthen international partnerships, and bring home new ideas and strategies that could enhance our programs in the targeted area.
Expanding Foundational Learning: TaRL Master Trainers Graduated in Four Regions
Imagine1day, in partnership with UNICEF Ethiopia and Teaching at the Right Level Africa, successfully completed a ten-day Master Trainers Training on the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach. Held from November 17 to 26, 2025, in Adama, the training brought together 90 participants drawn from South Ethiopia, Southwest Ethiopia, Oromia, and Benishangul Gumuz regions. Participants included regional and zonal education experts, college of teacher education instructors, woreda education officers, school principals, cluster supervisors, and teachers, all selected for their roles in strengthening classroom instruction and advancing foundational learning.
Throughout the training, participants gained hands-on experience in practical tools and methodologies that enabled teachers to assess children’s learning levels and deliver targeted instruction to help learners improve literacy and numeracy skills. Upon completion, all 90 participants were certified as TaRL Master Trainers, marking a significant expansion of national capacity to scale this evidence-based approach. During the closing session, Imagine1day CEO Dr. Seid Aman highlighted the importance of approaches like TaRL in ensuring that no learner was left behind and emphasized Imagine1day’s commitment to advancing foundational learning nationwide.
Advancing Disability Inclusion in Chifra: Key Stakeholders Strengthen Knowledge and Capacity
Imagine1day’s Chifra Field Office completed a three-day Disability Inclusion and Awareness Creation Training for key protection and education stakeholders in Chifra town. The training brought together representatives from the Woreda Education Office, Woreda Women, Children and Social Affairs Office, the Woreda Health Office, and principals from eight ECW-targeted schools.
Over the three days, participants strengthened their understanding of the different types of disabilities affecting children and explored practical strategies for creating inclusive, supportive, and accessible school environments. They also discussed ways to improve community awareness, enhance accessibility of services, and strengthen collaboration among government offices to support children with disabilities more effectively.
The training marked an important step toward promoting inclusive education practices in Chifra and ensuring that children with disabilities received the support they needed to learn and thrive. Imagine1day extended its appreciation to all participants for their active engagement and commitment to building a more inclusive future for every child.
