Objective: To enhance the resilience of education systems and integrate forcibly displaced children into national frameworks. The project will reach a total of 16,940 people: 6,620 (50% girls) are out-of-school children who receive basic education, transferable life skills, and psychosocial support through the BETE approach; 145 teachers, Parent-Teacher Associations, and other community groups in Amhara, and Afar regions will be trained with tailored training.

Summary of interventionThis project aligns with Ethiopia’s Education Sector Development Plan (VI) and the Global Compact on Refugees to enhance education resilience and integrate forcibly displaced children into national systems. It targets 16,940 people, including 6,620 out-of-school children (50% girls) in Amhara and Afar, providing basic education, life skills, and psychosocial support through the BETE approach. Training will be provided to 145 teachers, PTAs, and community groups, while 7,120 children and communities will receive support on life skills, GBV, and protection. The project also focuses on socio-economic inclusion for 300 youth, especially girls, and vocational training for 50 stakeholders. By improving education and employment pathways, it promotes self-reliance and stability for refugees, IDPs, and host communities.
