The Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE) Program conducted a validation workshop in Adama to review and validate three key program guidelines aimed at strengthening stakeholder engagement, peer-to-peer mentorship, and student organization.
The workshop brought together participants from the Ministry of Education, Regional Education Bureaus, Ministry of Labor and Skills, Imagine1day, Geneva Global Ethiopia, Education Development Trust, and the LiTE Program Management Unit (PMU). The gathering provided a platform for government institutions, implementing partners, and the program management team to jointly review the draft guidelines, share perspectives, and contribute recommendations for their improvement.
The workshop began with a welcoming speech by Yasabu Berkneh, Chief Strategic Partnership Officer, followed by an opening remark by Dr. Yohannes Wogasso, Lead Executive Officer for Education Programs and Quality at the Ministry of Education.
The opening session was followed by an overview of the LiTE Program presented by Dr. Fenta Mandefro, PMU Director, setting the context for the day’s discussions and validation process.
The guideline development teams presented the three documents, giving participants an opportunity to examine the proposed approaches and provide feedback based on their institutional experience and roles within the LiTE Program.
Following the presentations, participants engaged in detailed discussions on the draft guidelines. The discussion was facilitated by Dr. Halefom Gezaei, Chief Program Officer at Imagine1day. Engaging participants in providing comments, recommendations, and suggestions strengthened the documents.
Bringing key actors in the education sector together in the review validation process created an opportunity to ensure that the guidelines are informed by different perspectives and respond to the practical needs of stakeholders involved in implementing and supporting the program.
The validation workshop represents an important step toward finalizing the three LiTE Program guidelines. Through presentations, open discussion, institutional feedback, and consensus building, participants contributed to strengthening guidelines that will support effective stakeholder engagement and partnerships, peer-to-peer mentorship, and student organizations in secondary schools.
The workshop concluded with a discussion on the way forward and closing remarks, by Senior Officers from MoE and MoLS.
The Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE) Program is a five-year transformative initiative by Mastercard Foundation implemented in a consortium by Imagine1day(lead), Education Development Trust(Edt) and Geneva Global Ethiopia from December 2025 to November 2030.
