I believe that every child has the right to quality education and that the future of developing nations is held in the potential of its children. Being born into my western middle class family I have been the recipient of many privileges that I haven’t always appreciated or realized. Education was one of those things. I firmly believe that as one who has been given much I have much to give back - I am joining Imagine Ethiopia as a stand for the children of this particular nation and to use my abilities as a photographer to provide for them a voice in a world where they are so often overlooked.
In this world we have much to teach and much to learn – I believe that trips such as this open our eyes to what we can learn as much as what we have to give. The relationships built in such a context are a conduit for that give and take – from their culture to ours and vice versa – and as such nurture a space for growth and development on a global level.
- I will start leading trad routes by the end of outdoor climbing season 2011
- I will rebuild my website and redirect the focus of my photography towards non-profits and NGO's
- I will complete my diploma in International Development by Sept 2012
